and then there was GLAMOUR Magazine...

Hello Lovelies! Today we are doing a very special post about something that has had us smiling from ear to ear the last couple of days...

It all started a few months back with an email. I was sitting going through our Sol Sisters inbox that particular morning when I came across an email from GLAMOUR magazine...I paused, and remember thinking is this for real...its probably spam mail! Thank goodness I continued to read!! The email was from the recruiting editor of the magazine and she was inviting us to participate in a shoot they were doing with bloggers in our area...We immediately got to work on the look.

We were in disbelief the whole time we were there doing the shoot...It was just too cool!!

Fast forward to a few days ago... 

I am sitting in my office thinking the February issue should be out now! I then get on my iPad and and there it was...the article showcases two other lovely ladies and Liz who's rocking the white tuxedo blazer and totally representing our style and blog!!

We feel so happy, excited, honored and empowered to have had this experience and even happier we can finally share it on the blog with all of our readers!

We encourage you to go out and get a copy for yourself...it is full of all kinds of goodies!

Hola Lindas! Hoy compartiremos con ustedes un post muy especial...algo que nos ha echo sonreir de oreja a oreja estos ultimos dias...

Todo empezo hace unos meses atras mientras leia un correo electronico. Revisaba el inbox de Sol Sisters cuando llegue a un correo de la revista GLAMOUR...recuerdo que en ese momento cuestione la autentidad del correo...Doy las gracias que si me anime a seguir leyendo!! El correo era de parte de la editora de reclutamiento para la revista y era para invitarnos a participar en una sesion de fotos que estarian haciendo con bloggeras en nuestra area. Inmediatamente nos pusimos a trabajar.

El dia de la sesion de fotos no podiamos creer lo que estabamos haciendo...Realmente increible!

Hagamos un adelanto a hace unos dias atras...

Estoy sentada en mi oficina y me pongo a contemplar si la edicion del mes de Febrero ya salio a la venta...rapido corro por el iPad y alli esta...el articulo muestra a dos lindas chicas y a Liz luciendo un blazer estilo tuxedo y representando el estilo de Sol Sisters y nuestro blog!!

Nos sentimos sumamente felizes, emocionadas, con gran honor y fortalecidas por haber tenido esta experiencia y todavia mas felizes que lo podemos compartir con todas ustedes!

Gracias a todas por todo el apoyo que no han brindado...lo es todo para nosotras!!

Leather Challenge/ Reto de Cuero

A new week is about to begin...and that only gets us closer and closer to the end of the year. It always seems that when the holidays hit you begin to contemplate on a daily basis and lately it feels that way. This shoot was significant for a few reasons: even though we are mid-October it is barley beginning to feel like fall and we are excited to be able to bring that across in our looks, we haven't done shoots at night so that was both a challenging and fun experience...pushing ourselves to be creative differently is always something we seek and lastly we are really feeling the love and response from our readers and that is an amazing feeling...so thank you!

This look was part of a challenge we did for Nany's Klozet  and Flor De Maria Fashion. Their challenge was to incorporate leather or faux leather into a look. For the look we used probably one of our most favorite pieces Liz owns, the brown leather jacket she purchased when we were living in Italy. We paired the leather jacket with these fun gold iridescent jeans with a leopard print and these clean strappy heels that really help elongate her body.

Una nueva semana esta por comenzar...y eso solo nos lleva mas cerca al fin del año. Siempre llega a suceder que durante los dias festivos nos da por contemplar las cosas mas de lo normal. Esta sesion fue significante por un numero de razones: aunque ya estamos a la mitad de Octubre apenas se empieza a sentir como temporada de otoño y nos emociona el poder transmitir eso en nuestros looks, no hemos hecho sesiones de noche y fue a la vez desafiante y divertida la experiencia...el esforzarnos a ser creativas de una manera differente es siempre algo que buscamos y por ultimo estamos sintiendo el amor y la reaction de nuestras lectoras y eso es algo maravilloso para las dos... y por eso muchas gracias!

Este look fue parte de un reto que hicimos para Nany's Klozet y Flor De Maria Fashion. El reto fue de incorporar cuero en tu look. Para el look usamos una de nuestras piezas favorita del guardaropa de Liz, la chaqueta de cuero que ella compro cuando vivimos en Italia. Combinamos la chaqueta de cuero con estos divertidos pantalones con estampado de leopardo y color dorado iridiscente y unas zapatillas de correa que ayudaron a alargar su cuerpo.

Sidekick- Maylene in Paradise

   

We are excited to bring you another one of our Sidekick sessions! This time we had the lovely opportunity to shoot our beautiful friend Maylene! We took a trip just recently to a lovely little town off the Baja California coast in Mexico and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to do our shoot. 

The picturesque scenery and all the of the beautiful colors surrounding us were a great inspiration for our look. In keeping with a very authentic feel we decided to use this bright orange blouse with an equally toned necklace also in a rich turquoise. We paired the blouse with some easy going denim skinny jeans to give the outfit a casual vacation feel. The additional accessories like the Bermuda hat, ring and sunglasses finished off the look. 

Maylene just like all our previous sidekicks you were such a pleasure to work with!! We can't be any more pleased with the results...you made our job very difficult when it came to narrowing down the final shots ( as you can see we weren't that great at it ). Thank you for being such a fun model...we love you!

Estamos super emocionadas de presentarles otra sesion de Sidekicks! Esta vez tuvimos el placer de trabajar con nuestra hermosa amiga Maylene! Hace poco tomamos unas vacaciones a un pueblito muy lindo en el norte de Baja California en Mexico y pensamos que seria una perfecta oportunidad para hacer la sesion.  

El pintoresco paisaje y todos los hermosos colores que nos rodeaban fueron gran inspiracion para nuestro look. Para mentener un look autentico decidimos usar esta blusa color naranja con un collar color turquesa igual de intenso. Combinamos la blusa con unos skinny jeans para darle al outfit un look mas relajado y apropiado para unas ricas vacaciones. Los accesorios adicionales como el sobrero Bermuda, anillo y lentes de sol le dieron el toque final al look.

Maylene fue un gran placer trabajar contigo! No podemos estar mas encantadas con los resultados...hiciste nuestro trabajo mas dificil cuando llego la hora de escojer las fotos para el post ( como puedes ver no tuvimos tanta suerte con eso). Gracias por ser una modelo tan divertida...te queremos!
