Sol Sisters Style- Not So Ladylike

I had been waiting very patiently for this skirt and it finally arrived last week so I jumped on the idea of wearing it to a meeting with some fellow bloggers this past Saturday ( Exciting new project coming soon!!). I featured it in a "Style It Three Ways" a few weeks back, see here in case you missed it! I was so eager to wear it that in no time we had added this edgy printed top and high platform peep-toe pumps in a black suede to complement the skirt. We also added minimal but bold accessories: the big chunky earrings, chain necklace, animal print ring and big watch. Adding these final pieces gave this lady like skirt a new twist. We can't wait to play with it some more...

Esperaba muy pacientemente por la falda y por fin llego la semana pasada asi que salte el la primera oportunidad de lucir la. La porte a una junta con unas colegas blogueras este Sabado pasado ( un projecto emocionante proximamente!!) La presentamos en un segmento de "Style It Three Ways" unas semanas atras, ve la aqui en caseo de que te lo perdiste! Estaba tan entusiasmada por usar la que en un dos por tres agregamos esta blusa con diseño atrevido y tacones negros de gamusa para complementar la falda. Tambien agregamos pocos pero llamativos accesorios: aretes gruesos, collar de cadena, anillo con estampado de animal, y reloj grande. Al agregar estas piesas finales le da a esta falda femenina un giro inesperado. No podemos esperar a vestir la otra vez...

Sol Sisters Style- A little bit of houndstooth

The basic black and white color scheme really lends itself so we were excited to play with this houndstooth pencil skirt some more (here is the last look if you missed it). For this pairing we thought it would be fun to style it with this feminine looking blouse in a very soft lavender tone and shoulder embellishments. To finish off the look we added a classic handbag in black and these black ankle detailed heels to add a bit more visual interest to the look.

La combinacion de color blanco y negro es super clasico y se presta facilmente asi que decidimos crear otro look usando esta falda con diseño de pata de gallo (aqui esta el look anterior si te lo perdiste). Para esta combinacion pensamos que seria divertido combinarla con esta blusa con detalles femeninos y en color lavanda. Agregamos un bolso clasico en color negro y estas zapatillas negras con detalle en el tobillo para crear mas interes.

Floral + Stripes

So much has been going on with us that we are taking time this evening to regroup on where the Sol Sisters blog is headed... Don't you feel like you just need to sometimes?

Its definitely exciting and at the same time can feel a bit overwhelming to talk goals and about the future of our blog...luckily we are doing it over some really mouth watering bruschetta and wine at a local phoenix joint- Postino's (in case your ever in the area...its great for brunch too!) There are so many projects and ideas we are developing that we just need a night out to share our thoughts and feelings with each other. We can definitely say this though...wherever the journey takes us we are so happy to be sharing it together and with all of you!!

On to FASHION...

One exciting new addition we can already share is that Inez the other half of Sol Sisters will also be a regular on the blog! As our one year anniversary approached we really reevaluated our identity as a blog and what that looked like for our readers. Up until this point she had remained creative director/photographer when it came time to doing photo shoots...but since we are all about growth and true self-expression things had to change. So here is Inez...

We are so into pairing stripes and prints right now...it's just so fun! This floral skirt is so flirty and flowy that we knew  it would be perfect to style now that it's officially warm here. The top is actually a peplum design but considering we tucked it in you wouldn't even know...one point for versatility! The accessories were kept solid to not overwhelm the print on the skirt but bold enough to stand on their own. It was such a windy afternoon but we had so much fun shooting!

Tantas cosas estan sucediendo que tenemos pensando juntarnos hoy por la tarde para conversar sobre el rumbo que tomara el blog de Sol Sisters...no sientes como que aveces te llega a suceder y necesitas revaluar?

Definitivamente es emocionante y a la misma vez puede ser intimidante hablar sobre metas y el futuro de nuestro blog...afortunadamente lo estaremos haciendo sobre un rico bruschetta y copa de vino en un cafe local aqui de Phoenix-Postino's (en caso de que llegues a visitar...es ideal para un almuerzo también!) Tenemos tantas ideas y projectos que estamos desarrollando que necesitamos una noche para compartir nuestros pensamientos y opiniones. Sin embargo les podemos decir que donde sea que nos lleve este viaje estamos super felizes de poder compartirlo juntas y con todas ustedes!!

Una adicion emocionante al blog que ya podemos compartir es que Inez la otra mitad de Sol Sisters también sera una regular en el blog! La llegada del primer aniversario nos hizo revaluar sobre nuestra identidad como blog y como se refleja para nuestras lectoras. Hasta este momento ella se habia mantenido como la directora creativa/fotografa durante las sesiónes de fotos pero como siempre estamos listas para el desarollo personal  sabiamos que eso tenia que cambiar. Asi que aqui esta Inez...

Nos fascina la idea de combinar rayas con estampados floreados...es simplemente divertido! Esta falda floreada es coqueta y fluye facilmente que fue la pieza perfecta para lucir actualmente ya que hace mas calor aqui.  La blusa es estilo peplum pero como la metimos dentro de la falda ese detalle no importo...un punto por versatilidad! Mantuvimos los accesorios colores solidos para no agobiar el estampado de la falda y a la misma vez llamativos para que resaltaran entre todas las piezas. Este dia hacia bastante viento pero como nos divertimos!

A Casual Sunday.

Hey guys...Happy Monday! We had such a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon with great company as we celebrated a dear friends baby shower. The gathering was co-ed so it was nice to enjoy great food and conversation with all our friends in honor of this new baby boy we are all so eagerly awaiting! 

Due to the nature of the event along with a back yard setting we decided to pair this comfy and weather appropriate floor length cotton dress in army green with some casual sandals, a very basic fuss free look. We finished the look off with additional gold accent pieces. The LV tote and the relaxed wavy hair added to the perfect weekend look. We hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!

Hola chicas...Feliz Lunes! Tuvimos un Domingo tan lindo y relajante con gran compania  mientras celebramos a una amiga en su baby shower. La reunion fue para hombres y mujeres, a lo cual nos permitio disfrutar de linda conversasion y rica comida con todos nuestros amigos en honor de este lindo pequeñito que esperamos ansiosamente!

Debido al tipo de evento, lo cual se celebraria en el jardin decidimos combinar este comodo vestido largo de algodon en color verde militar con unas sandalias casuales en color dorado. El vestido fue una pieza muy apropiada para lucir en un dia con clima poco caluroso. Acabamos el look con algunas piezas adicionales de color dorado, bolso LV y cabello ondulado que complementaron el vestido para un look de fin de semana. Esperamos que tambien hayan tenido un lindo fin!

Back In Time

Hi Loves! Some of our readers suggested we try different locations for our shoots so we made an attempt with this outfit! We do want to share that even though we loved the end result, the process what a bit more challenging than usually since we are still discovering what works for us...nonetheless thank you again to those that suggested it for always encouraging us to grow!

With this look we had two main stars, the dress with its beautiful waist detail and the jeweled headband. With that in mind adding black accents to the outfit immediately identified it as an evening look. The additional accessories were kept subtle enough to add character to the posh look with out outshining the the main pieces.

Hola amores! Varios de nuestros lectores sugirieron que tomaramos fotos en locaciones diferences asi es que tomamos sus comentarios y lo hicimos para este outfit. Al mismo tiempo, les decimos que el resultado final fue genial ya que el proceso fue un poco dificil y seguimos descubriendo que funciona para nosotros. Aun asi les queremos agradecer por habernos sugerido el tratar nuevos lugares.

Con este look tuvimos dos piezas claves. El vestido con el detalle en la cintura y la diadema enjoyada. El anadie accesorios en color negro inmediatamente tomo el outfit a un nivel de mas vestir. Los accesorios adicionales fueron minimos pero al mismo tiempo anadieron caracter al look elegante.
